Meeting

We have been meeting weekly and have seen God's hand upon this group. As men are able to lay aside shame and join us, techniques for fending off these attacks are shared.

Generational Junk

How much of the "junk" that men drag around with them do we pass on to our kids, having received it from our fathers and grandfathers? When the reality of how everthing I do not lay aside will be handed down to my children and grandchildren, the absolute importance of breaking every unGodly "soul tie" became real to me.

When we join in a soulish (five natural senses) nature with someone or something, that person, place or thing is permanently tied to our soul until it is released, or in some cases, pried off and scraped off. How many things have I attached to me that are still riding along, dormant, waiting for a time to sprout and spring forth and destroy a part of me? Or you?

Exciting Weekend

This was another weekend of deliverance for men attending and of great blessing for the leaders. A powerful word came forth regarding bondages being broken and laid aside. Each month, although the subjects stay constant, the Holy Spirit seems to minister a distinct and different message. This month, accountability to another and control of our behaviors took on a new emphasis.

Again, cell groups were announced, which have been created to help in several areas. We are already in prayer calling forth men to next month's Encounter Weekend For Men.

Encounter Weekend coming Feb 15-16

Are you tired of spinning your wheels?

Forward Progress is a group for men who need some support, encouragement and accountability. Maybe you've been trying to overcome your behavior on your own and all your efforts seem to produce is more failure than freedom. You are growing tired and weary and you are ready to just give up and accept your current state as who you are. Don't give up on yourself, God certainly hasn't given up on you.

We also held our second meeting last night. We are learning more about how to guard against satan's attacks.

Men's Cell

Last night (1/31/08) we held the first in a series of weekly meetings dealing with the issue "Escaping Fatal Attractions". We are beginning with examining the sin cycle and how a temtation can be allowed to progress unto death. There are several stages to this process, any of which are subject to intervention. Men must come to the knowledge that temptation can be avoided or thwarted. It always, always comes from satan.....never, never from God. See James 1:13-14.

Weekend Harvest

We had an amazing weekend. Friday evening 28 men attended. The Holy Spirit spoke to men and many were delivered and set free of stuff in many areas. Each of the speakers brought a fresh word.

I have now been attending Encounter Weekend for Men for over two years and have received something fresh at every Encounter. We had a joint lunch with the attendees of the Encounter Weekend for Women. A great time was had by all.

Jeff Goforth spoke presented five men with copies of his book and a cd of scriptural confessions. He also announced the beginning of his new cell group "Who You Are In Christ" which begins Thursday 1/31/08. Jeff has been some places he can help others avoid with what he has learned.

The "character" of Christ is worth examining.
